A Giveaway at the Beginning!

Okay, I did it: I made my stole designs available, so anyone else can have them printed on fabric and sew them together using the pattern printed into the fabric. To celebrate, I've got a fun giveaway: one, already-sewn-together Pentecost stole.

So, check out the stole designs I made. See the designs here, and order them through Spoonflower, here.

Post a comment here by next Thursday (the 8th), and you'll be entered in the giveaway!

Note: Giveaway closed. Congrats to the winner!!

  1. Wow! These are completely amazing. My number one reason I wish I could sew is to make stoles. Some day.

  2. Molly, that is beautiful! Much better than the cheap Cokesbury Ordination stole I own.

  5. Beautiful! I love seeing people's designs for liturgical art. I've made a couple of my own as well - although I weave the fabric I use, and then bead the designs. Thanks for sharing. :)

  6. Those are absolutely incredible! Do you only sell the fabric or do you also sell the sewn stoles?

  7. Page 95: I only sell the fabric--though I think it's straightforward enough that you could take it to a tailor or seamstress to put it together pretty easily. Or, I have a friend in seminary who might be up for doing the sewing. :) Glad you like the designs!

  9. I'm a new "younger" clergy woman, and I have been looking for stoles that are artistic but not cheesy and have spiritual depth - I can't believe I found them in a DIY style. Love all of them, especially the background of the cosmos. I'm ordering the one for Lent right now.

  10. Confused on the sunflower website -do I order 1 yard or 5?

  11. You just need 1 yard of fabric to get the 3 stole designs pictured on each spoonflower choice. :)

  12. Read Institute 10 times. Still confused, and on an ordination deadline! Molly, I need your help;
    Full width interf.
    ______________
    -|----------|- Interfacing
    --------------

5/8" short side to side (leaves only fabric, face-to-face for ironing back over).

    <______________> front(folded & ironed)
    |-----------|

I hope that this makes it clear, another way to ask. The fabric is face-to-face. Should the interfacing be sewn when I sew together? If it is won't I have to trim it, and won't it show white stripe in the seam??
